I would like to send special thanks to the Okeechobee Tourist Development Counsel and Kathy Scott for their support for this event with a monetary contribution. Their contribution was a large portion of the money required to conduct this event. Each competitor, boat captain, parents, volunteer and staff received dinner on Friday and Saturday at no cost. Thanks to Pogey’s Restaurant and Domino’s Pizza.
Special thanks also goes out to Adam Trieshman of Witch Doctor Rods, Okeechobee Fishing Head Quarters, Carl Lewis, Robert Miller SR, Denali Rods, King Fisher maps, Joe Medlock, Gander Mountain, Pogey’s Restaurant , Domino’s Pizza, and especially the parents who donated their time. Each participant received a shirt and Plaque.
This event was second to none. A special thanks to the boat Captains who volunteered their time and boats. There are too many individuals and companies to list that contributed products and time to make this event a success. This was a great example of the overall attitude of the Okeechobee community.

Update from last meeting
During the Board of Director's meeting in November the decision was made to allow sixteen and seventeen year old to fish as non boaters for the 2015 season. During 2014 trail eighty plus percent of percipient surveyed agreed this would be in the best interest of the Florida Bass Federation. This will allow the juniors to move to the adult tournament trail this year or fish with the high school programs.
Congratulations to the Florida Bass Federation State Team for 2015. They will compete in the TBF Southern Regional on Lake Norman in North Carolina. The tournament is scheduled for the first week of June 2015. FBF appreciation goes out to the members that participated in the State Championships in Palatka, Florida on October 11 $ 12, 2014. The board of directors look forward to seeing the qualifiers for the 2015 State Championship on Lake Okeechobee.
